Dr. Jeff Scargle (Code SST) has been named a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the California Institute of Technology's Keck Institute for Space Studies (KISS). Scargle was honored in recognition of his work in developing and applying analysis methods for astronomical time series and other data. Scargle will attend an invitation-only KISS workshop, "Digging Deeper: Algorithms for Computationally-Limited Searches in Astronomy" June 7-10 at Caltech. KISS Distinguished Scholars are internationally recognized scholars with broad expertise in research areas related to the KISS study programs. Their interaction with colleagues on the Caltech Campus, at JPL, and other visiting scientists and engineers are expected to provide a stimulating catalyst for new ideas and approaches to space research and provide the basis for new research collaborations that may develop in the future.
