Ames Scientists Present Papers at LEAG (Lunar Exploration Analysis Group) meeting

The LEAG (Lunar Exploration Analysis Group) meeting was held at NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center on October 22-24, 2012. Several scientists from Code SS presented recent research results at the meeting to update the lunar community on current Ames lunar science & exploration activities.

Rick Elphic gave an oral presentation titled “The Lunar Atmosphere and Dust Environment Explorer: T-Minus One Year and Counting” to provide a mission update regarding the LADEE mission.

Jennifer Heldmann gave an oral presentation titled “RESOLVE: Real-time Science Operations to Support a Lunar Polar Volatiles Rover Mission” to report on lessons-learned from the July 2012 field campaign to study science operations for a lunar polar rover mission concept.

Tony Colaprete provided a poster presentation titled “Near Real-time Prospecting for Lunar Volatiles: Demonstrating the RESOLVE Science in the Field” to provide an overview of the RESOLVE mission concept and science activities conducted during the 2012 RESOLVE field campaign.
