BASALT Research Objectives

Jimin hopes to identify areas of opporunity to increase mission planning, execution, and overall operational efficiencies through data-driven improvement of software tools. Jimin is part of the Minerva team that is developing and field testing planning and scheduling tools for BASALT.

Biography

 

Jimin Zheng is a user experience researcher and designer on the team developing Playbook, a mobile mission planning and scheduling tool designed to help evaluate and improve crew autonomy in future space missions. He designed many of the key self-scheduling and communications features in Playbook that have been deployed on several NASA Analog missions, including BASALT, NEEMO, and HERA.
