BASALT Research Objectives

I’m here to facilitate field operations. As Field Support Team Lead by and Deputy Logistics Coordinator, I am a go-between for science, field, and logistics groups.

My research focuses on microbial life in permanently dark ecosystems, from cave slime to deep sea hydrothermal vents. I have also worked as a jack-of-a-few-trades with the Pavilion Lake Research Project, as a microbiologist with the Palmer, Antarctica LTER, and as an engineer on board a tall ship with the Sea Education Association. I currently call State College, PA my home, along with my three chickens.
